A Day With Thomas

A few months ago, we bought tickets for "A Day with Thomas" at a Nashville train station. I kept it a secret until the day before because I just knew he would ask hundreds of times a day if we could go yet. We planned this day as a special family of three day--we don't know how many of those are left and want to make sure he feels special while we are preparing things for Finn.

Walking in with daddy--he was SO excited.

The first station we went to was the tattoo tent. I mean, every 2 year old needs tatted up before they meet Thomas don't they? He has been so proud of it, showing it to everyone he meets.
They had every boy's dream: a tent full of train tables! There were little boys running around everywhere with big eyes and gasps.
Riding the mini-train. It went about 3 miles an hour, but that was the best breeze we got all morning! It hit 104 degrees, and standing on black concrete makes it even hotter!
 Walking to car #8.

We made it! And it is air-conditioned!
Check out my blue lips from the Italian Ice my mom got me!
I just love these next two photos, he was so fascinated with everything we saw outside of the window, the train went all the way downtown by the river and back.

After the train ride, we had the chance for a photo-op with Thomas. We stood in line for about 40 minutes in the blazing heat so I consider this photo a miracle.
With all the sweating we did, it was most definitely bath time when we got home--someone was all smiles to be cooled down and to have new Thomas bath toys to play with.
This is his new "scared" face. It absolutely cracks me up every time.

The other tie-in to Thomas day was that it would be the first night Lucas slept in his big boy room. . .stay tuned for some pictures and stories!
