While Daddy is Away. . .We Shall Play

Our daddy has been on a medical mission trip to Guatemala this past week, which also happened to coincide with Lucas' spring break. . .I know, fabulous planning ;) Oh well! We made the best of it and had a fun mommy week starting with St. Patricks Day and these two cuties:

We celebrated by having lucky charms and "green" milk (a little bit of food coloring). Lucas said, "Happy St. Patrick's Day? But that Sugar calls Grand Da 'Patrick', that is funny!"

It is been beeee autiful here in Nashville. This week has seen highs in the 80s every day, today we hit a record of 87! Wowzers. The flowers and trees are all gorgeous so we decided to go to the duck pond downtown Nashville and feed the ducks with our friends and smell some tulips.

Sweet little friends sharing bread with each other and with the ducks.

Watching Lulu and Leilei run through the flowers was the highlight of my day!

My sweet, sweet baby Finn. He is in my new favorite stage of his, so cuddly and giggling all the time.

They just make me happy looking at them--and the colors make me think of popsicles.

Today we headed to the zoo with some of our friends, including our very loved Miss Dele. The Dinosaur exhibit just opened so we checked it out--they were pretty cool, but from a 2 year old's perspective they were a little intimidating, but he was OK as long as he had Miss Dele's hand :)

All the animals were a lot for Finn to take in, so he sacked out in the stroller for awhile. He is too cute even when he is sleeping. And a bonus, when we got home, he took an amazing nap in his crib--a first for this week, so momma got some things done with both her hands this afternoon!
After a lot of walking, animal sightings, and a yummy lunch--sno cones were in order, and you better believe this child ate every last drop, he knows not to let a "treat" go to waste!
During a quick visit  to the toddler area, look who decided to sit up on his own for a few moments!

Other highlights from this week have been going on a mommy-Lucas date to Chuck E Cheese :) We needed to do something just the two of us and it was a lot of fun and we definitely played a lot of basketball! He really has been such a good boy lately and so funny with what he comes up with to say! We have missed our daddy, and it has been hard doing everything on my own, but we have made good memories, wore ourselves out with fun outings,  and will be most thankful to get back to our "normal".
