I am pretty excited for Finn's doctor appointment next week, I just know he has gained a lot of weight, he is such a fun squishy butterball! I am in love with the rolls on his thighs and wrists. . .yes, he has rolls on his wrists. Lucas was my skinny little man so this is all new to me!
Lots more smiles this week and the occasional coo, but for the most part he is quiet and laid back. He has only been getting up to eat once a night but one day this week he went from 10:30-6:30. Hallelujah!
One of my favorite Otter Creek traditions each year is the Family Breakfast with Santa. Oh so much fun and great memories, this is our third one with Lucas! After singing carols with Clarissa, reading a book with Janet, and hearing a lesson from Melanie, Melanie led a closing prayer before we started our rotations. When Melanie was thanking God for all our families, Lucas leaned over, patted my arm and said, "and my mommy too".
Lucas was just over the moon about seeing Santa today, he was telling everyone on the way into church, "Santa will be here today"! Did my son walk up to Santa and say, "que pasa Santa"? Yes. He did.
The family picture, I love that Finn is watching Lucas. And I just adore their matching outfits that Erin Jones made. She is so talented and I love her creativity!
Each year there is a craft segment where we make an ornament. We--I should say I make an ornament while others are putting pieces in their mouths or running around in circles. I think I did a pretty good job, I only needed help a few times ;) Actually, now that I just typed that. . .I do believe I put the head on the wrong end of the body. Oh well. It already fell apart at home (it had some "help") and I can re-glue it the correct way.
Lucas was showing up some fun dance skills.
And you are caught Mr. Lucas! We were on our way down to breakfast and someone found a powdered donut on the way. . . sneaky sneaky.
The day wasn't finished with sweet moments. Finn was so excited about meeting Santa for the first time that he was just grinning and cooing as soon as we got home.
Tell me this picture doesn't make your day. I dare you.
Finn wore these booties today that I just love but even more special is who else has worn these. Me! and My brother, who now wears a size huge shoe. . .seriously, a 14/15. I love vintage :)
