A little snow and a lot of cold!

This past Sunday was one of those Sundays that you couldn't possibly fit one more event in, but it was so fun to do together. . .especially when the weather added its little festive flair! The picture above is from Sunday afternoon-the snow didn't stop until about 11 P.M.

Sunday morning was a wonderful time at Otter Creek, especially having a beautiful duet by my friend Kelley and Ricky Braddy (from American Idol!), it was the perfect event to usher in worship time.

Josh has been doing a class on Genesis, and the attendees have remained the same throughout this class. It has been a great mixture of old and young, married, single, lifetime members and new to town! One of our shepherds and his wonderful wife had us all over for lunch together.

After lunch, we went home for naps and turned right back around to go caroling with our life group! It took about an hour to make a 20 minute trip because of two reasons: the roads were covered in ice and were not salted, and Nashvillians do not know how to drive in winter conditions.
Lucas was much more interested in our nursing home friend's "cars" and wanting to push them around :) haha. He was sweet though, and they all loved it! We had worked on coloring some cards for them during the week and Lucas did such a good job handing them to each of his new friends.

Here are two things we learned while caroling: It probably isn't the best idea to sing, "I'll Be Home For Christmas", and it probably wasn't the best idea for Josh to tell his friend Scott in a not so quiet voice, "hey man, real men take the stairs!" while 5 older men in wheelchairs are waiting for the elevator. Nice one.

We walked outside to a winter wonderland! The Graves family LOVES snow!!
After caroling, we were to go back to the same home we had lunch at, but this time for a going away party for our dear friends, the Houstons. The road conditions were terrible, again, I don't know whose idea it was to not salt, but you don't realize how hilly and windy these roads are until you are sliding around on them!

I am thinking of making some extra money by teaching classes on driving in ice/snow. All Nashville residents need to come to my class. Just sayin.
We went outside for a little bit on Monday, but with wind chills near zero, we didn't stay for long. Lucas had a lot of fun riding in his car out there!

"Mom, I can't feel my face anymore".
Lucas did not want to come inside, but he soon realized that a warm fire and chocolate milk are nice too ;)
Of course we had to get our 2010 ornament and here it is! I thought the sled was perfect since we have had two experiences to go sledding in Nashville in 2010. . .something I never would have thought we would get to do! Too bad they didn't have a boat ornament for the flood. . .

I leave you with this sweet face. . .how can you not have a good day now? You're welcome.

Snow and southerners just don't mix that well. Good luck with your driving class!
