This Heat Brings Out the Wimp in Me!

It has been so hot this past week, each day seems unbearable and then we hear on the nightly news that the next day will be 5 degrees hotter. We have done a lot of inside activities or the pool in the early morning or after dinner time. If you go to the pool between 12 -5 it just feels like warm bath water.

Maybe all this time gave Lucas time to learn new tricks, like say "moo" for cow, throwing himself in a pile of pillows, or figuring out all the baby locks as seen in the video from yesterday. I love this kid so much, he cracks me up on an hourly basis.

Last week was our 6th wedding anniversary so we had the great chance to have a babysitter and go out to dinner, and then Josh even graciously walked the mall with me.

There is a great playground at Otter Creek that we played at for about 15 minutes while we waited for daddy to be done with work. After 15 minutes we were both cooked so we spent the rest of our waiting time in TJ Maxx.
Our wonderful neighbors, Mike and Nadine, offered to watch Lucas so that we could go to something that I haven't done since I was pregnant. . . what is it you ask? Go to the movies! I was so excited and even splurged for the neato glasses to go see Toy Story 3 in 3D.
Lucas has a short attention span for cartoons, but Wonder Pets is our favorite for sure. I loved that he cuddled up on my pillows to watch. This was moments before he dove off the side of my bed. No injuries, and he proceeded to dive into my pillows giggling as soon as I picked him up off the floor.
Today we did the unthinkable. Go the the zoo when the heat index was 107 and the news was telling everyone to stay inside because of the extremely dangerous weather. Lipscomb had a GOLD event (Graduates of the last decade) at the zoo where we were able to have lunch with friends. It was nice, but after lunch and looking at the elephants we went back home to be in the A/C.

It was Ice Day at the Nashville Zoo and Lucas enjoyed the big ice block!
Stay Cool!
