This is my sweet little boy who was fascinated with the snow falling outside. It was beautiful all day Friday. He wore his snow plow shirt for good luck, just hoping that we would really get enough to play in! It was coming down so fast that most of Nashville shut down pretty early, we enjoyed the surprise of Josh getting to come back home at lunchtime for the day to play with us!
Lucas stayed by this window for quite some time just watching the snow. I was able to make both of our lunches with both of my hands, now that is saying something!
We woke up to a winter wonderland!! We had about 4 inches, and the top 3 inches turned to thick ice. I couldn't even break through some of it even walking on it.
About 11, we heard a knock on the door. It was our sweet neighbors Mike and Nadine, thinking that us Michiganders would of course have sleds. Well, no we don't. We thought TN didn't get snow so we left them behind. We did however bring our shovels--the movers laughed at us. Who is laughing now?
We did want to play, so we shared the Runcie's sled and improvised with greasing a laundry basket with soap and pulling Lucas in it.
Pretty soon, the Josh and Karina came out with the boys, and the Davis' came up, and one by one more neighbors came to sled down our super slick road. It was a blast! We met so many new neighbors and hung out with our great Otter Creek family that lives in Burkitt Place. A really sweet couple came over on their 4 wheeler to bring us another sled to use.
Lucas is thrilled with my creativity. Obviously.

The buddies. They went down the hill together a few times.
Our road was just perfect. We spent 2 hours sledding. Everyone had so much fun, especially with the soaped down Radio Flyer metal sled, now that thing could fly! We are supposed to have freezing fog and temps of 9 degrees in the morning, so we might just have to go back out again tomorrow afternoon when the sun comes out.
Here are a couple videos for you to enjoy. They were taken on my camera's video, and I don't know how to turn the one video around with blogger. Sorry. Hope you don't hurt your neck watching.
Now to end the evening with more hot cocoa, more ice cream, and another movie. Ahhhh. love it.
