Happy Half Birthday Lucas! from Kara Graves on Vimeo.

I can't even believe that I just typed that title to this blog. Wow. Half a year already? But that sounds so long when I feel like you have only been here for a moment. On the other hand, I can't imagine my world without you Lucas, you and I are the greatest of buddies and we are having so much fun together.

We went to the doctor this week for your big 6 month appointment. The doctor commented on how strong and muscular you are, and he is right...you are constantly wiggling and moving around. I wouldn't be surprised if you start crawling next week and running the week after.

Right now you are able to roll over both ways several times in a row to get what you want, you can turn yourself in a circle and arch your back to make sure you don't miss anything that is going on around you. Quite the observant one. You are sitting up on your own very well, and when you fall over, you think it is funny. Peek-a-boo makes you smile a lot, but the sure way to get a great smile from you is to take you to the swings.

You love to eat! So far all the veggies and fruit, and even some sour lemonade has been greeted with a reaching hand and open mouth for more. You are patting with your hand, and now know how to get that paci in your mouth on your own. You have two cute little white teeth popping in the bottom and you squeal and kick your legs when you are having fun.

You still don't like to sleep great, but naps are getting better and mom and dad no longer rescue you at night when you cry for us. You will learn eventually and be happier kid for it.

Here are your stats:
6 Months: Head- 17.25  (52%), Height- 26.25 (45%), Weight- 15 lbs. 9 oz. (17%)

Looks like you are going to be tall and skinny like your buddy Jackson!

We love you Lucas, you are the joy of our world.

Kara, I love the new format and how you are talking to Lucas. What a treasure this will be for him someday.

So glad to see another update! Isn't it crazy how fast life flies with little ones? At times it feels as if it's standing still but then you look back and realize how fast it goes. Motherhood seems to fit you perfectly!
